FABLE in Pickering

Pickering Boudoir Photographer

Pickering measures itself by the water. The sailboats drawn up at Frenchman's Bay, the long walk out along the waterfront, the quiet of the Nautical Village on a weekday morning, the way the lake keeps the whole town honest about what's worth slowing down for. People who live here have a feel for the difference between a place that's showing off and a place that's simply, confidently itself. That instinct is exactly the one we trust when someone drives in from Pickering for a boudoir session. You already know what you like. You are not looking to be talked into a fantasy. You are looking for something real, made well, and made for you.

So let's start there, because the work is the point. FABLE is a fine-art boudoir studio, editorial in its eye and inclusive in its bones. We photograph for every body and every story, and we mean every word of that. Some people arrive wanting the timeless, soft-lit register of Boudoir. Others come in with a sharper idea in mind and lean into Fine Art Boudoir, the kind of frames you'd expect from a magazine spread rather than a portrait studio. There is Bridal Boudoir for the chapter before a wedding, Couples for two people who want to be photographed as they actually are together, Empowerment for the season of life that asks to be marked, and Men's Boudoir, because confidence in front of a lens was never meant to belong to one kind of person. You choose the language. We make sure it sounds like you.

The drive up is part of it, and we say that on purpose. From Pickering you're looking at roughly forty minutes to our Vaughan studio, an easy run across the top of the GTA toward Highway 7 and Weston Road. It is just far enough to feel like you've stepped out of the everyday and onto neutral ground, somewhere your name on a calendar and the people who know your routine can't reach. That distance does something. By the time you walk in, hair and makeup waiting, the day is already yours. We handle the nerves, the direction, the small decisions about how to stand and where to look, the parts that make people think they aren't photogenic. They are not your job. They are ours. What you carry home is not a single flattering shot but a set of images that look like the most assured version of you, the one Pickering's water-and-weekday calm has probably been quietly teaching you to be.

I recently found myself navigating a separation, and my self-confidence was at an all-time low. I wanted an opportunity to feel empowered, reconnect with myself, and explore my femininity. My experience at FABLE was amazing. Everyone was so accommodating and made me feel like the main character in my own story. From beginning to end, I felt supported, celebrated, and completely comfortable. The experience gave me a much-needed confidence boost. My portraits and artwork turned out amazing, and seeing myself through a different lens helped me feel more confident and empowered. I couldn't have been happier with the overall experience, and I recommend FABLE to all of my friends.

For the last 24 years, we have been Mom and Dad. Running to school, events, sports, and anything else the kids needed. Yes, we would sneak away every couple of years for a vacation together, but our focus was always on the kids. Well, they are not little anymore, so now we can shift some of that focus back to us, and something like this was a great way to reconnect. The day started off with some nervous jitters, but as soon as we entered FABLE, we were greeted with a warm and professional atmosphere. It made us feel confident and comfortable throughout the whole experience. What we thought was going to be a scary and awkward experience actually turned out to be a great day and a fun experience for both of us. The experience really helped boost our confidence. So much so that we have already had a couple of conversations about coming back and doing it again next year for our 25th anniversary.

I decided to do the photo shoot because it was a horrible time in my life, one of the worst. After a breakup and losing both of my parents in 2024 and 2025, I had felt so bad about myself and my physical appearance due to a bit of depression. My experience with FABLE was wonderful from the moment I walked in. I was treated like a queen and taken care of every step of the way. Everyone was awesome and made me feel so special throughout the entire experience. For once in my life, I actually felt like a movie star. It gave me such a confidence boost, and that feeling has continued even after the session. I feel great about myself, and I’ve shown my portraits to so many people. One of them is even my profile picture on Facebook and Instagram. This experience truly changed how I see myself, and I am so grateful for it. If I wasn't moving in a few weeks, I would probably be doing it again in the near future.

I was tired of hating myself and my body and knew I needed a new perspective and a new start to the year. I cannot even describe how amazing it was to have my portraits done with FABLE. The whole team was so warm, inviting, and hyped me up so much. They all made me feel special and were so caring. I could tell they loved working there and weren't just there for a paycheck. Since my photo shoot, I have bloomed. I started yoga and love it so much that I'm taking a yoga teacher training course. I've been running regularly and have smashed through previous personal records. I have lived full of joy, full of love, and most importantly, I can look at myself in the mirror and not hate what I see. I have embraced, accepted, and loved the body I have and all the amazing things it has done for me. And all it took was one session at FABLE. Two hours of my time to kick my self-doubt and hateful comments out the door. Forever.

I needed this for myself as an affirmation that I’m more than my age or the sum of my parts. Even someone in their later 60’s can be attractive, even a little bit vibrant, more than just an “old lady”. My personal experience was lovely. Everyone was personable, supportive and friendly. I didn’t feel rushed. My opinion was listened to and respected. I didn’t get a lot of support from family members about doing this experience. However, when I returned home, the tune changed! My son commented about how pretty I looked with my hair and make up. I also got positive feedback over the photos I chose. Overall, I’m glad I took the opportunity to do something inherently for myself. It gave me a boost of confidence. I feel a little more self assured, like I did 15 years ago.

The reason why I needed this for myself was because I was feeling low, not feeling sexy, and not feeling wanted by my body. Everything just wasn't right for me. My experience with FABLE was amazing, exciting, and scary because I didn't know what I was walking into. I had no clue what to expect, but overall, it was amazing. Everyone was kind, understanding, and made you feel welcome instead of scared about what was going to happen. I started off really nervous. My armpits were leaking because I didn't know what to expect. They could tell I was nervous, but they made me feel amazing from the start and even more beautiful by the end. By the time I was done, I was laughing. You could see it in all the behind-the-scenes photos and the time-lapse videos, how scared and nervous I was at first, and then by the end I was having an amazing time, laughing, and feeling more at home than I did when I walked in. The girls were amazing with my hair and makeup because I don't know how to do either myself. They also showed me how to sit, how to stand, and how to pose for all the portraits. They loved the word "apple" and somehow managed to make me feel completely at home and relaxed. The girls are amazing, nice, welcoming, understanding, and appreciative. They work with you every step of the way. The way it made me feel afterwards was uplifting, sexy, and more connected to my body the way I should be. With my portraits hanging on my bedroom wall, I look at them and see what I can be and what I'm worth. They remind me that I can be pretty every day, even without my hair and makeup done by someone else, because I still don't know how to do either myself. It was an amazing experience, and I cherish every moment of it. I will definitely be back one day to do a couple’s session with my love.

Pickering questions

Booking a boudoir session from Pickering

How far is the studio from Pickering, and is parking easy?

The drive from Pickering up to our Vaughan studio runs about 40 minutes, most of it a straight shot across the top of the GTA on the 407 or along Highway 7. We're at 8201 Weston Road, Unit 3, near Highway 7 and Weston Road in north Vaughan, with free parking right outside the door. Most Pickering clients tell us the trip felt shorter than their morning commute, and arriving relaxed, with time to spare, matters more for the day than shaving off a few minutes.

I've never done anything like this. What do most Pickering clients ask before booking?

Usually two things: what it will actually feel like, and whether it's right for them. The honest answer to the second is yes, for every body and every story. Our six sessions, Boudoir, Fine Art Boudoir, Bridal Boudoir, Couples, Empowerment, and Men's Boudoir, exist so you can choose the register that fits you rather than squeezing into one mould. We walk through wardrobe, comfort, and what to expect long before the camera comes out, and we share transparent pricing before you ever commit. It is not your job to be photogenic. It is ours.

Should I get ready at home in Pickering or at the studio?

Come as you are and let us handle the rest. Professional hair and makeup are part of the experience at the studio, so there's no need to arrive camera-ready or stress about getting it right yourself before the drive. Plenty of Pickering clients bring a coffee, a playlist, and a couple of wardrobe options, then settle in while the team takes over. The getting-ready hour is part of the day, not a chore to rush through before it.
